Ambassador Ron Kirk joins L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and USC President Steven Sample to kick off World Trade Week during his first-ever visit to L.A. as USTR





In his first-ever visit to Los Angeles as United States Trade Representative (USTR), Ambassador Ronald Kirk will join Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, University of Southern California (USC) President Steven Sample and other business and civic leaders in delivering remarks at the 83rd  Annual World Trade Week Kickoff Breakfast hosted by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.  The Ambassador will discuss President Obama’s top trade priorities.  Mayor Villaraigosa and USC President Steven Sample will discuss the benefits of world trade to the Southern California region. Serving as the official kickoff to more than 30 events held during the Month of May in conjunction with the national World Trade Week observance, this year’s breakfast will focus on leveraging cultural ties to enhance trade and grow the economy.  The event will also present scholarships to local students and recognize regional trade leaders with the Export Achievement, Service to World Traders, Special Recognition and Bob Kleist Awards.
